For a perfect moment in time, Scorpius surely isn't the only one kissing. It takes two to snog, and James sure isn't lackluster in his reaction. It would shock Scorpius, except he doesn't have time to dwell on it before James is shoving him away, glaring daggers at him. Quite possibly he'd have thrown a punch if they'd been out of the water.

Scorpius treads backwards, putting further distance between them. Oh, Merlin. He's going to get it, isn't he?

"Sorry," he murmurs, trying not to lick his lips, because the taste of James is still there. So tempting. He pushes back further, until there's at least a yard or two between them. "I plead momentary insanity," he blurts, dumbly. Well, what else can he say, really?
